Jaipur: No dress code yet in Ajmer sufi shrine, but in the backdrop of a controversy over a dress code for pilgrims visiting the Sufi shrine in Ajmer (following the Katrina Kaif episode), the Nazim of the shrine's Dargah committee on Saturday said he has only given some suggestions for maintaining decorum at the world famous pilgrim centre.
The Nazim Khawaji Moinuddhin Chishti Ahammed Raza on Saturday clarified no final decision has been taken on a dress code for the 'ziareens'( devotees) but only gave some proposals to the Anjuman committee of the shrine.
"I have just sent some proposals to the Anjuman committee where I had just sought their consent over maintaining certain dress code in the shrine for the male and female devotees. But the dargah khadims(servers) and their Anjuman committee has blown the issue out of the proportions without reasons," he said.
"No final decision has been taken yet," he added.
The Nazim was responding to media reports that he has started the process of putting a dress code notices on board. "There is a need to maintain decorum in the shrine after the controversies where foreigners, tourists and even a film actress Katrina Kaif came here in absurd dresses," he said.
"I mean I have just asked for rumaal or dupatta to be used by women devotees to cover their heads, and for males a shirt up to elbow and pants or trousers up to the knees. I don't find anything wrong in it," Raza said.
The khadims and some devotees have reportedly voiced resentment over the move for a dress code in the shrine saying measures are already in place and that the dargah committee does not have to come up with a dress code.

Bollywood has always delivered cross culture films in every phase and decade that has reflected the importance of Indian values and tradition. Vipul Shah takes a plunge at this issue with his fresh offering 'Namastey London' featuring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles.
The album brings back the color and grace of Himesh Reshammiya with the added attraction "Mehfil mix" versions voiced by lyricist Javed Akhtar. Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and UK rock band RDB also render one soundtrack each in their typical musical style. 'Namastey London' promises entertainment with seven original soundtracks followed by eleven remix soundtracks in a 2 CD pack.
Chakna Chakna: Himesh Reshammiya gets into the soul of club crooner as he punches out stylish Punjabi disco soundtrack "Chakna Chakna" in his loud and pompous nasal twang. The number has sensuous musical touch of UK "bhangra" number but the beats are desired to be catchier to lure listeners. Reshammiya mixes his conventional "Sufi" musical ingredients that gel well with pulsating disco music.

Main Jahan Rahoon: Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan makes second impressive musical move in Bollywood with "Main Jahan Rahoon" after the success of "Jiya Dhadak" ('Kalyug'). It has traditional Sufi musical base where the emotions of loneliness and separation are smoothly voiced in soft and subtle musical rendition. Krishna sings as background singer and in a classical manner to give it a sentimental touch. This may not be as penetrative as "Jiya Dhadak" but certainly displays excruciating moments of a sentimental lover in an impressive way.
The best way to describe the depressed sentiments is through meaningful poetry and the needful is delivered in even more impressive way in "Main Jahan Rahoon (Mehfil Mix)". Javed Akhtar's voice and poetry signifies the moments in sensitively delivered poetic phrases that work as prelude to the soundtrack. It works best for sensible listeners who treasure meaningful musical work and its positive experimentation works brilliantly in the contemporary film album.
Mood turns groovy as disco beats takes over from meaningful poetry in foot-thumping musical make-over in "Main Jahan Rahoon (remix)". The peppy flavors of Sufi pop and funk is displayed with traditional club mix feel that works wonders for the number. The soundtrack works well in all the three versions and this makes Sufi music popular in contemporary film music.
Yehi Hota Hai Pyar: Himesh Reshammiya's contemporary Sufi pop returns as he sings beautifully in soft and subtle mode along with Sunidhi Chauhan in the soundtrack "Yehi Hota Hai Pyar". The softer vocal mode of Reshammiya worked well in a couple of tracks last year in numbers like "Ahista Ahista" and "Tanha Jiya Na Jaye" and it makes another impressive show in "Yehi Hota Hai Pyar". This marks the first duet soundtrack of the album and has the romantic feel but lacks the fire of his previous passionate tracks. It has the momentous gripping to make things work well as a situational number in the film.

Katrina Kaif can heave a sigh of relief. Thanks to director Vipul Shah, the Dargah committee at the revered Ajmer shrine is ready to forgive her for wearing a skirt on the premises.
Shah, in whose film "Namaste London" Katrina is playing an important role, offered his apologies to the management of the Khwaja Moinudeen Chishti's Sufi shrine.
"The director has felt sorry. So all actions supposed to be taken against the film crew has been dropped," Abdul Alim Dargaha Nazeen told on telephone from Ajmer.
The controversy erupted when Katrina visited the dargah in October with her co-star Rishi Kapoor to shoot for "Namste London".
During the shoot, Katrina had a 'dupatta' on her head but her legs were not properly covered as she had a knee length skirt. Her attire irked the dargha committee who found her costume objectionable and disrespectful vis-à-vis the shrine.
The film will have the original scene of Katrina offering prayers at the dargah.

Ajmer:The management of the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinudeen Chisti here has served showcause notices to Bollywood star Katrina Kaif and others for filming a scene for a movie without its permission.
Najim Abdul Aleem of the Dargah Committee on Thursday said the notices were served to Katrina, Rishi Kapoor, director Vipul Shah and agent Babubhai Ghosi for shooting a scene of the movie Namaste London at the shrine without permission last month.
Katrina had worn a short dress during the filming, drawing the ire of a section of the servers and management at the shrine. They have been asked to file replies to the notices within 15 days of receiving them and to tender a public apology.
The notices were issued on November 11 by Jatan Chand Jain, a lawyer acting on behalf of the Dargah Committee, Aleem said.
Though Ghosi made an application for permission to shoot at the shrine, his request was not granted, Aleem further said.
Katrina, wearing a knee-length skirt, entered the shrine with Rishi Kapoor on October 2 and offered a chadar at the Sufi saint's dargah without written permission, he said.
In sync with Islamic traditions, women wearing skimpy outfits are not allowed inside the shrine, and officials and the Muslim community had taken exception to the actress' attire, Aleem elaborated.
Sarwar Chisti, secretary of the Anjuman Committee or organisation of Khadims (servers), said, "What was the need to raise the controversy again as the matter had subsided last month. It (the notices) will lead to another controversy and media hype."

The row over filming of a sequence of "Namaste London" and actress Katrina Kaif's wearing a short skirt inside Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's Dargah here has set off a blame game between Khadims (servers) and the shrine administration.
The Dargah Committee, which runs the Sufi Shirne, and the Ajuman Committe, which is an association of Khadims, have started pointing accusing fingers at each other for the controversy.
Syed Munawar Chishthi, a member of the Anjuman Committee, sought to play down the issue of Katrina's dress and said the media had "blown it out of proportion".
Eyebrows were raised when Katrina, clad in a knee-length skirt, entered the tomb along with actor Rishi Kapoor on October 2 and offered a 'Chadar' at the Sufi saint's Dargah for a scene in the film.
In keeping with Islamic traditions, women wearing skimpy outfits are not allowed into the shrine and Dargah officials and the Muslim community have taken exception to Katrina's attire.
Working Nazim of Dargah Committee Abdul Alim said that legal action would be taken against the producer of the film Vipul Shah for filming the sequence of the movie.
As it was a holiday on October 2 because of Gandhi Jayanti, the administrative staff of the Dargah Committee could not stop the shooting here, he said.
Alim said he has submitted an inquiry report on the incident to the Director V K Pandey of the ministry which deals with minority issues.
"We also complained to suspend the responsible persons who brought Katrina and crew for filming the movie sequence", he said.
"No employee could be suspended as we don't have a written complaint and the investigations in the case are still on", Alim said.
He attributed the whole controversy to the "Khadims" and said as some of the influential Khadims were seen along with the film crew on that day and this might be the reason why they were not stopped.
Vice President of Dargah Committee Syed Bari Chishti said it was the duty of office-bearers of Anjuman Committee that was accompanying the Bollywood team to ensure the maintenance of sanctity of the shrine.

Jaipur Devotees have raised a strong objection over Katrina Kaif wearing a skirt (which did not cover her legs completely) to Khwaja Moinudeen Chishti's shrine at Ajmer. She was in the shrine with her co-star Rishi Kapoor to shoot for Vipul Shah's 'Namaste London'.
According to tradition, women offering prayers in the shrine must have their head, hands and legs covered. It is alleged the film was being shot in Sufi saint's presence and he did not object. "Due to the presence of large number of people, I could not see the dress worn by Katrina, I was at a distance and it looked to me as if she was wearing a full dress," said secretary Chisti.

Khadims, Dargah Committee blame each other over Katrina issue

The row over filming of a sequence of "Namaste London" and actress Katrina Kaif's wearing a short skirt inside Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's Dargah here has set off a blame game between Khadims (servers) and the shrine administration.
The Dargah Committee, which runs the Sufi Shirne, and the Ajuman Committe, which is an association of Khadims, have started pointing accusing fingers at each other for the controversy.
Syed Munawar Chishthi, a member of the Anjuman Committee, sought to play down the issue of Katrina's dress and said the media had "blown it out of proportion".
Eyebrows were raised when Katrina, clad in a knee-length skirt, entered the tomb along with actor Rishi Kapoor on October 2 and offered a 'Chadar' at the Sufi saint's Dargah for a scene in the film.
In keeping with Islamic traditions, women wearing skimpy outfits are not allowed into the shrine and Dargah officials and the Muslim community have taken exception to Katrina's attire.
Working Nazim of Dargah Committee Abdul Alim said that legal action would be taken against the producer of the film Vipul Shah for filming the sequence of the movie.
As it was a holiday on October 2 because of Gandhi Jayanti, the administrative staff of the Dargah Committee could not stop the shooting here, he said.
Alim said he has submitted an inquiry report on the incident to the Director V K Pandey of the ministry which deals with minority issues.
"We also complained to suspend the responsible persons who brought Katrina and crew for filming the movie sequence", he said.
"No employee could be suspended as we don't have a written complaint and the investigations in the case are still on", Alim said.
He attributed the whole controversy to the "Khadims" and said as some of the influential Khadims were seen along with the film crew on that day and this might be the reason why they were not stopped.
Vice President of Dargah Committee Syed Bari Chishti said it was the duty of office-bearers of Anjuman Committee that was accompanying the Bollywood team to ensure the maintenance of sanctity of the shrine.
Syed Munawar Chishti, a member of Anjuman Committee, said Katrina's dress is not an issue which was "blown out of proportion in the media".
He alleged "sometimes pilgrims too wear such dresses and no one takes notice of it but when it comes to a celebrity, people always make hues and cry over it".
When contacted, some of the Khadims said that people should forget Katrina's dress issue as many Bollywood stars have been visiting the shrine to offer “Chadar” and any controversy would not do good to the Dargah.

Jaipur Devotees have raised a strong objection over Katrina Kaif wearing a skirt (which did not cover her legs completely) to Khwaja Moinudeen Chishti's shrine at Ajmer. She was in the shrine with her co-star Rishi Kapoor to shoot for Vipul Shah's 'Namaste London'.
According to tradition, women offering prayers in the shrine must have their head, hands and legs covered. It is alleged the film was being shot in Sufi saint's presence and he did not object. "Due to the presence of large number of people, I could not see the dress worn by Katrina, I was at a distance and it looked to me as if she was wearing a full dress," said secretary Chisti.
