Sehwan: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has underlined the need for spreading the message of love, peace, affection and brotherhood, which was preached by the Sufi saints of Sindh.
The governor stated this after inauguration of the three-day 755th Annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Usman Marvendi Lal Shahbaz Qalandar here on Saturday.
“Such a move could help put the country and the Sindh province in particular on the path of rapid progress and prosperity,” the governor said, and added that the preaching of the Sufis of Sindh was universal and by following their example, an affable atmosphere could be promoted in the society.
Accompanied by Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Mir Manzoor Panhwar, the governor said without peace, a developed society could not be realized while the present government was striving to develop the province.
Sindh possess huge mineral resources and the government is making efforts to explore them and utilise them for the welfare of masses and uplift of the province, he said.
Earlier, the governor inaugurated the Urs celebrations by laying floral wreaths at the Mazar of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and offering Fateha.
