Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday strongly condemned the suicide attack on the shrine of renowned Sufi saint Abul Hassan Ali Ibn-e-Usman al-Hajvairy, known as Data Gunj Bakhsh, in Lahore late on Thursday night, resulting in several innocent lives.
In a statement issued here, the minister said that the attack at the shrine of a Sufi saint betrayed beyond doubt that these terrorists had no faith and no values, and they were savage to the extreme, and hell-bent to ruin everything civilised.
Qureshi said that the government and the people of Pakistan were determined to root out the menace of terrorism, and would never allow these violent extremists to succeed in their abhorrent designs.
He prayed for the victims and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
