Iran on Tuesday pitched for mutual fraternity among the advocates of religions of the world.
New Delhi: Addressing a seminar on “ Sufism and National Solidarity” on the occasion of Jashn-e-Gharib Nawaz in New Delhi, the Ambassador of Iran to India, Syed Mehdi Nabizadeh said: “Today, the world is facing the challenges because of losing ethical and humane values. The universal teachings and mutual fraternity among the advocates of religions could guide in establishing peace and humanity”.
Speaking on the occasion Union Minister for Human Resource and Development, Kapil Sibal said that protection of secularism and promoting national integrity of the country can be preserved while following the teachings of Gharib Nawaz, the revered mystics.
Expressing his views on the occasion, world famous Shia scholar, Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawwad Naqvi, General Secretary of Majlis Ulema-e-Hind said: “The sanctity of human life is accorded a special place by the Allah Almighty. Without respecting the human values peace can’t be established. The humane and spiritual teachings of Gharib Nawaz under the light of Quran and Hadith guided the humanity to live in peace and brotherhood.”
Beside Dr. Karim Najafi, the Cultural Counsellor of the Iran in New Delhi, the day-long seminar, organized by the NGO, Universal Association For Spiritual Awareness (UASA), was also addressed by political leaders, religious scholars and academicians.
Sultan-ul-Hind, Shaikh Khwaja Syed Muhammad Muinuddin Chishti known as Gharib Nawaz is the most famous Sufi saint of the Chisti Order of the Indian Subcontinent.
