Revised edition of Mian Mohammad Bakhsh's 'Great Sufi Wisdom" published

The revised edition of ‘Great Sufi Wisdom — Mian Mohammad Bakhsh’ by Professor Saeed Ahmad has hit the bookstores, says a press release issued here on Wednesday.

The book carries the translation of 225 couplets from ‘Saiful Malook,’ a well known book, recited in the villages of Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Mian Mohammad Bakhsh (1830-1907) wrote 18 books, all in the Punjabi language, except one in Persian. His major work is ‘Saiful Malook’. The real name of the book is ‘Safrul Ishq’ (The Journey of Divine Love), but it is publicly known as ‘Saiful Malook’. It has 9,249 couplets in Punjabi. Professor Saeed Ahmad took 225 couplets in his first volume and translated them into English.

The most interesting feature of the book by Professor Saeed is that it is written in three scripts, which include ‘Shahmukhi’, ‘Gurmukhi’ and Roman script. It has 160 pages, paper quality is wonderful and its price is just Rs100. It is published by Adnan books, Dubai Plaza, 6th Road Chowk, Rawalpindi.

Professor Saeed Ahmad is renowned for translating the selected poetry of Punjabi Sufi Poets including Baba Farid Ganj Shakar, Shah Hussain, Sultan Bahu, Bulleh Shah, Waris Shah, Mian Mohammad Bakhsh and Khawaja Ghulam Farid.

Professor Saeed Ahmad, is teaching Economics in Government College of Commerce, Rawalpindi. Each work of Professor Saeed is widely admired all over the world because of very simple language of his meaningful translation plus very reasonable price of each book. His works are also translated in many other world languages including French, Esperanto, Arabic, Russina, Romanian, Polish and German.
