Spain has published a book of Persian miniatures and illuminations, each accompanied by a Persian poem and its Spanish translation.

The book contains about 100 exquisite miniatures, and poems by renowned Persian poets such as Hafez, Ferdowsi, Mowlavi, Khayyam, Attar, Jami and Nezami.

Spanish poetess and writer Clara Janes Nadel and Iranian scholar Ahmad Taheri have translated the poems into Spanish.

Janes Nadel, who has translated works by numerous Persian poets, believes Persian miniatures combine beauty and thought to express ideas in the most lucid way.

"Persian miniatures are worlds of wisdom, which provide metaphysical knowledge through art," Clara Janes Nadel told IRNA news agency.

"They attract every viewer with their beautiful colors and subtlety," she said, adding "Persian miniatures are not only the result of the artistry of their creators, but also a system based on thought."
