test of text

This is a test of a change in text and background color since one of our readers informed us that in Google Reader (which 156 people every day use to read Sufi News) the pastel colors for text that we have been using are hard to read. Let us know what you think about the changes.

Well, after some very negative feedback. I have changed back to the default schema. I am still open to suggestions, however.

Asalaamu alaikum.

Since you've already changed back, i'm not sure how helpful my comments will be, but i am one of those Google Reader users. :) It was a WONDERFUL surprise to open my Reader just now and find that i could read the post, as it was normal black print. The pastels do make it impossible to read on the white Google Reader background without highlighting the text - and accessibility is a very serious issue. i also frequently email from the Reader to others who don't normally read you, so although there may only be 150-some subscribed readers, there are countless others that are also affected. You might try this site to learn what areas/issues on the blog create accessibility issues and how to easily fix some of those issues. http://wave.webaim.org/

Dear ones,
Thank you so much! My eyes are greatly relieved to see this more easily. My heart is eased to have this information. It is lovely to have both the default schema here and the legibility in google.
Blessings on you and your work.

Salam,

I have now (Monday morning) made additional changes (enlarging the font, putting it in black and bold, and lightening up the background just a bit so that both the older pastel text and the new black text will still be readable. Any comments? I am hoping that this will be a solution that will work for both the Google feed readers and those who come to Sufi News directly.

In this experimental phase of SWB, I am definitely open to suggestions.
