The 799th annual Urs of Khawaja Moinuddeen Chisti, commemorating the death anniversary of the Sufi saint, will begin here on June 2 or 3, depending upon the sighting of the moon.
Over five lakh pilgrims, including foreigners, are expected to take part in the Urs, District Magistrate and Collector Manju Rajpal told PTI.
Pre-festival ceremonies, such as hoisting of the Urs flag, will begin on May 29 at the 'Buland Darwaza' of the saint's dargah, she said.
Adequate arrangements will be made for the stay of the pilgrims. 90 additional state Roadways buses will ply to facilitate travel during the six-day event and six medical dispensaries will be established at various places, she said.
