Zakirah Shah's Urs to be observed [old news]

LUCKNOW: India has been a spiritual country since time immemorial. It has attracted people from almost every country in the world towards its spiritualism through tassawwuf (Sufism).
As Sufism is based on love and devotion and is an easy way to attain perfection in life, it is free from any discrimination among people belonging to different faiths.
Hazrat Khwaja Sabir Mohd Zakirah Shah, whose Urs (death anniversary) will be observed from September 25 to September 28 at village, Musandi, under tehsil, Purwa in Unnao district, belonged to the lineage of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer who is known as the father of Sufism in India.
He, (Hazrat Zakirah Shah) was a perfect saint-master of not only Ilm-e-Elahi (Brahm Vidya) but a strong muwahid (unifier) of mankind. Zakirah Shah, who has thousands of followers in India and abroad, believed in love and universal brotherhood.
His main teachings are: 'Happy are those who show mercy to others', 'he who cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself', 'Love your enemies and pray for those who ill-treat you', 'do for others what you want them to do for you,' 'be merciful to the weakness of human nature' etc.
During his 'Urs', the dargah committee every year distributes blankets, clothes and food to poor and destitute, organises medical camps where several doctors from Mumbai come and examine and distribute medicines to the poor patients who cannot afford costly treatment elsewhere.
