Muharram Teaches Us Values Like Sacrifice, Patience: Soomro

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro has said that holy month of Muharram reminds us of the greatest Islamic human values like sacrifice, patience and determination.

He stated this while talking to the 12 member delegation of Markazi Imam Hussain Council (MIHC) led by its Chairman Dr. Ghazanfer Mehdi which called on him here on Tuesday.
He told the delegation that Sufis were a source of moral enlightenment and that the philosophy of Sufism aimed at inculcating the spirit of tolerance, peace and love among the people. He said that these basic values were ordained by Islam.

The Chairman MIHC informed the Chairman senate that the council has been endeavoring for the unity Ummah since its inception 27 year ago.

It was also suggested in the meeting that an advisory board having representatives of the ministries of education, religious affairs, culture and the four provincial Auqafs be constituted and the board be entrusted the task of preparing a viable plan to curb the menace of sectarianism and terrorism from society.
