Punjabi University Holds Sufi Music Concert
Punjabi university to record Gurbani in the voice of prominent artists

PATIALA: Punjabi University will record Gurbani in the voice of prominent artists related to different music streams of India and this recording will be preserved in Archives of Music which is being established by Gurmat Sangeet Chair.
This was stated by Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh here today on the occasion of Sufi Music Concert.
Sufi Music Concert has been organized as a joint venture by Gurmat Sangeet Chair and Guru Gobind Singh Deparment of Religious Studies with the financial support of North Zone Cultural Centre & ICHR.
Artists Adreem Khan and Shakur Khan presented different compositions of Bulle Shah, Ghulam Farid and Shah Latif in their melodious traditional style. Their performance was accompanied by their traditional instruments Kamaichan, Khartaal, Manjira and Dholak.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh also honored these Sufi artists.
Dr. Gurnam Singh - Dean Faculty of Art & Culture, Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh, Dr. Amarjit Grewal, Dr. Nivedita Uppal, Dr. Paramvir Singh, Dr. Swaraj Singh, Dr. Jasbir Singh Bhatia and many other were present in this function
