TEHRAN, June 30 (MNA) – The fifth international conference entitled “Mysticism and Sufi Approaches in History of Iran-Turkey Relations” will be held in Mashhad, capital of northeastern Khorasan Razavi Province, in November, the Cultural Heritage News (CHN) agency reported here on Friday.

The Center for International Cultural Studies of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) is planning the event in collaboration with the History Foundation of Turkey.

The previous editions of the conference were held periodically in Iran and Turkey, the director of the ICRO’s Central Asia and Caucasus Group said.

“The fifth edition will be held in line with the cultural and scientific cooperation protocol signed by Iran and Turkey,” Hassan Heidari added.

According to Heidari, the fourth round of the conference was held under the title of “Globalization and the Challenges Facing Iran and Turkey” in Istanbul in October 2005. He referred to historical commonalities of the two countries, noting that the history of Iran and Turkey is interwoven and the documents at the History Foundation of Turkey prove it.
Heidari added the ICRO is organizing such events to help Iranian scholars gain access to these documents.
Several Iranian and Turkish professors have been invited to submit their articles, he said.

“There is no limitation for the number of articles and the ICRO will publish all selected articles,” he vowed.
