Thousands pay obeisance at Bulbul Shah (RA) shrine

Srinagar: Thousands of pilgrims today attended the sacred Shrine of Hazrath Bulbul Shah Abdul Rehman Sharief (RA) at Nawakadal Bulbul Lanker on the concluding day of Urs. Bulbul Shah was the first Sufi saint known throughout the world for his great spiritual preaching based on love and brotherhood. He arrived in Kashmir during the 14th century and preferred to stay here till his last breath.
Today hundreds of scholars, intellectuals and preachers joined the congregation and the great teachings of Bulbul Shah.

Keeping in view the less capacity of the lawn and accommodation inside the Shrine, an appeal was made by the devotees to the Bulbul Shah Trust to take appropriate steps for ensuring expansion of the shrine structure. Accordingly, the Intizamia Committee of the Bulbul Shah Trust has decided to reconstruct the Shrine so that the 700 years celebration of the great Sufi saint which are commencing from the next year are organized conveniently.

Thousands of devotees today attended the special Maulood-i-Sharief held inside the Shrine and special prayers were made for the welfare of all human beings.
